Today’s the day.

This is 60, and frankly, I never felt so good. What’s more, I feel no different than I did yesterday, and I expect I will feel pretty much the same tomorrow.

So, there you have it. Maybe this won’t be so bad after all.

As for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who refers to me as “Cook,” let the record show that Sir Henry refused to appear in the photograph and, if you know anything about royals, it’s that they always get their way, no matter how knuckle-headed their demands–ahem, requests–seem. 

Sigh. Some things never change.

Well, that’s all she wrote, dear readers. I’m off to do me some celebrating!

    Ah! Henry, ever the Royal. No, they definitely do not like to share the spotlight. I think he would just like his own portrait. What a pity, I do like seeing him in photos.

    • Thank you so much, MM. It’s been a rather lovely week, celebrating in all kinds of ways. I’m actually looking forward to going home and having a little downtime before returning to work. Emphasis on little. Would love more but, alas, duty calls. And by that I mean, I have to walk the dogs and I’ll be sure to give Henry your best!

    • Thanks, Lisa. All the photo shopping I did on the picture clearly worked. In the original, I was wearing a ratty old bathrobe, big fuzzy slippers, had curlers in my hair, and was holding a mop. Voila!

  6. Happy Happy Birthday, Monica! You look wonderful — everybody should look that good at 60! I was wondering what happened to Sir Henry; good to know he’s as temperamental as perhaps a royal should be — probably had his nose out of joint when you wanted to pose with BOTH dogs, ha! Enjoy your festivities!!

    I would say I hope I look as good as you when I reach 60 in November, but I don’t think I could pull off wearing heels like that!!!!!

    • It is all about a youthful outlook, plenty of activities that bring you passion, good book and exercise, and good health. And you have it all plus a great perspective on life.

      • Thanks Judy! Delighted to hear from you! It’s the positive outlook that keeps me young, or at least thinking that I’m young. They say that age is just a number but I’m horrified by my number. I keep waiting for the again to switch into reverse. What are the odds?
