Happy Anniversary to me! Happy three years of blogging!
Yep, another year has gone by. Summer’s almost over, all the big stores are out with their back-to-school ads, and somewhere, someone is baking a pumpkin pie.
Time flies when you’re having fun. And, I’m having loads of fun because it’s my blogging anniversary!
Good old WordPress just sent me a “Happy Anniversary” message. I’m celebrating three years this week. My, my, how my blog has grown in three years! 😉
Three years of writing about life as I see it, my divorce, my childhood in Queens, my high school years on Long Island, etc., etc. And, three years of Henry regaling you with his royal fanfare.
Yowza, 294 posts in all. Close to 300, but no cigar. That may not seem like much to you, but if you ask me, I never thought I’d last a year. I was pretty sure I’d soon run out of things to say. But then, what do I know?
So, in honor of this happy occasion, I hope you’ll enjoy these recent photos of my canine companions, Henry, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who descends from royalty, and the little Maltipoo street urchin, Oliver Twist. If you ask me, they’re getting along famously! Like ham and eggs, salt and pepper, and Abbott and Costello. You get the idea.
Above: Oliver Twist uses Henry’s bed, not to sleep in, but to dine in. His idea of breakfast in bed. Whenever I give him a snack he brings it here to eat.
Below: At this gathering of Cavaliers, Henry discovers he’s not the only one trying to get back to their rightful place by the throne.
By the way, the boy with Henry is the new valet. He comes over, as needed, to feed and walk Master Henry and the young Oliver Twist.
Below: “Please Sir, I want some more,” says Oliver Twist after eating a bowl full of mush.

Above and Below: The boys get one ice cream cone to share as a summer treat! Enjoy it while it lasts, fellas!
_Below: Henry appears satisfied after devouring the ice cream cone. However, he’s not. He’s always ready for more!

Above: Oliver Twist, after his first visit to the groomer’s. He’s beside himself with how handsome he looks.
Below: The boys like to nap on the bed while I’m at the computer. Here, clearly they’re miffed at me for waking them up just so I can snap this photo.

So, how about you? Anyone else celebrating a blogging anniversary this summer? Anyone celebrating anything at all?
Or, are you just wishing that summer would hurry up and be over so you can start getting ready for the holidays? Do tell!
I became 3 July 31. Congrats and best wishes for continued success.
Happiest! I haven’t been with you all those years but I am so glad to have found you. Your writing is joy.
The babies are too sweet, but I’m sure they keep you busy. Makes me want a puppy, but I don’t know how the fat cats would cope.
Thank you for all the support and compliments. So appreciate it. The dogs are a handful, but they are awful,y cute–and they’re mine! 🙂
Monica, please forgive me for being late to the party! This is one of the downsides of vacationing in Spain–the WiFi signal is virtually non-existent and it takes eons to load pages. That said, happy belated bloganniversary! I for one have learned so much from you! Your insight, wit, and creativity have served not only to delight me, but to inspire me to write. I find I can always relate to your childhood posts. They are so exceptional, amiga mia! Here’s to many more years of writing, chica! Hugs to you, Sir Henry, and little Oliver from Roxy and me! 🙂
Forgot to mention how utterly adorable Sir Henry and Oliver look! Roxy thinks they’re the dandiest furry friends she’s ever seen! 🙂
Thank you, Bella. But what I love most in my three years of blogging is making such wonderful friends, and I count you among them. I love how we click, connect and support each other, through thick and thin. You make this a special pace to be. 🙂
And yes, I have to say, Oliver and Sir H are the cutest. Only Roxy is missing from this tableau. We need her to visit! (You, too, Amiga!)
Happy WPAnniversary! Read it this way: W-Panniversary! Henry is too cute! Keep on bringing the funk, lady! I enjoy reading your blog.
SomerEmpress, mighty nice of you–and clever play on words, I might add. I’m so glad we discovered each other in the blogosphere. I enjoy your blog, too. 🙂
Happy Anniversary – I’m ever so glad I found you 🙂
Happy
Blogoversary!
What a great journey you’ve brought us on.
LOVE!
The photos are TOO dog-gone cute))) Xx
Thank you, Kim! I just love the blogging world! 🙂
Monica, Happiest anniversary to you! I celebrated mine too! Like you, I didn’t know if I would last at all, I just wanted two write, find an outlet and then I met you!! Your support has meant so much. I am happy to call you my friend as we take this virtual journey together. Here’s to many, many more years of blogging.
The photos of Henry and Oliver are simply adorable. Oliver has the most soulful eyes I have ever seen and well, Henry looks regal and handsome, just as royalty should. How do you resist those eyes?
Those eyes are very deep and soulful, limpid pools of wonderment and love. Very hard to resist, actually.
I’m so glad we found each other, too. I remember it was when I did a blog post on Colin Firth. I haven’t written about him since, because once I discovered yours, and realized you always know the latest about him, that was good enough for me! Thank you for always keeping me informed on all things Colin. I’ve learned so much from you and your blog, my friend. Hugs!
Great! Happy anniversary. Keep blogging. Loved your blog 🙂
Thank you! And thanks for visiting my blog. 🙂
Happy blogoversary! The boys look SO cute.
I actually forget when mine is – I think it’s in the winter, and it’s coming up on three years, too. Loving the summer right now, got plans that involve sunning by the pool and lots of reading. Oh, and some family visiting.
Thanks, Beverly. Enjoy the summer while you can. Here it’s been getting cooler and cooler each day. Fall is in the air!
Congratulations, Monica! Three years and almost 300 posts. Such an accomplishment. Love your boys, your writing, and positive spirit. Here’s to three more years. Yes, indeedy you do have a lot to say and I enjoy reading your words.
What lovely words, Georgette. I so appreciate the sentiment, and I’m glad you enjoy my blog as I do yours. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the reminder, I hadn’t read emails yet, and I just LOVED all the pictures of those precious fellows. Congrats to you, love your stories of your life. And those pups just make me smile, what a joy they are for you.
You’ve been here since the beginning. In fact I mentioned you in one of my first posts. It’s meant a lot to me to have you here then, when I only had a handful of visitors to now, when I have many more. Thanks, Sherri!
Happy anniversary, Monica! Three years is amazing. I will be at it 3 years in November. And the boys are beyond darling! Saw a post-“primera”-grooming shot on FB. Such a cutie. And TOTALLY can’t wait for the holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs from Ecuador,
Kathy
Thank you dearly, Kathy. We are a very prolific group. You, me and all our blogger friends. The way I see it, we’ve written enough to fill dozens of books! Maybe it’s time we start compiling the “best of” posts into a book!
Happy Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza and a very Happy New Year! There. Now you’re a little bit closer to the holidays! 😉
I am so happy you are still here, that you found me so I could find you.
Happy happy happy Anniversary!!
Val, I never quite remember how I meet each of my blogger friends, so I’m glad you did. I’m happy to have discovered you, too! I love your flash in the pan stories and your thoughtful analyses of current events. They’re so good!
Happy anniversary. I enjoyed your photos – as always. I celebrated my 51st birthday which fell on a Saturday this year. I think all birthdays should be on Saturdays.
Saturday birthdays would be ideal. I hope you had a very nice birthday celebration. Seems to me birthdays come around so quickly. Maybe too quickly, actually. Thus proving my point: time flies!
What a sweet little canine family! Happy Blogosversery, my friend. I came on the scene just one year before you and am celebrating my 4th over at IJW. So happy that we connected in this World Wide Web!
Thanks, Jayne. I’m so glad that so many of my readers like dogs. I spent most of my life not having any. Now I know what I was missing. Congrats to you for four years. Now, that’s a feat! I’m happy too, that we connected. I love your writing. It’s brilliant!
Happy Anniversary! It’s us, your reader that is celebrating as well. I so enjoy each installment on your blog. I love the pictures of Henry and Oliver who seem to be enjoying their summer. My family celebrated our 1 year anniversary this summer returning to Vashon, Wa. After living in Ca. For 10 years, we decided we wanted to follow our retirement plans and return. My daughter just left for her second year of college and her excitement to be now living in her own apartment off campus makes her leaving bearable. Keep blogging and I will continue to be a faithful follower.
Thank you
Congratulations on your one year anniversary. I can’t think of a better place to live! When I lived in Seattle, I had friends in Vashon and would enjoy the ferry ride over. You live in a beautiful state! Best of luck to your daughter as she starts a new year of college. She’s going to love apartment life (as opposed to dorm life). Thank you for being such an important part of my blogging world. I so appreciate you!
Happy Anniversary! I think mine is in the fall. Like you, I never expected to fall in love with blogging like I did!
Love the photos of your boys, too — they’re so photogenic! I wish my Sheltie could eat ice cream, but it seems to upset his tummy (probably lactose intolerant!)
Debbie, is it three years for you, too? Blogging’s fun. What does Domer think of his mother blogging? My boys are very photogenic, if you ask me. I just love taking pictures of them. So does my son’s girlfriend. Some of these photos were shot by her.
Congratulations to you, Henry & Oliver Twist.

Thank you kindly, Mr. Obamacrat. I always appreciate you visiting my blog!
I visit often Ms. Monica, but quietly.
😉
You are a very sweet man, Mr. O.
Y thank u a ton 4 saying that Ms. Monica. U made my month.
Congratulations! Does three years officially make you the royal scribe?
Lisa, I’ll leave that to Henry to determine. I’m just happy I haven’t run out of things to say!
Happy Anniversary! Congrats! As always, I love the pup pics!
Thanks, Thoughtsy! Three years went fast. I wonder what the next three will bring? I’m glad to have discovered your blog, too. You know it was the kitty in the Pop Tart box that brought me to you. I was intrigued by the picture!
Happy 3rd Anniversary! Oliver Twist is a carbon copy of my Pixi, only thing is, Pixi is black! So adorable.
Can’t wait for Spring to start. 3 more weeks to go!
Gina, we need to get Pixi and Oliver Twist together for a photo op. I bet you the paparazzi would go crazy over those two together!
Monica congratulations on the three years and then endless insight you have given me into things that side of the pond.
Love the doggie pictures, there is something about animal pictures that always makes them special.
Here’s to your next three years of blogging…….
Robert, I agree. Photos of dogs, especially these guys, always bring a smile to my face. Glad you like them, too. And thank you for discovering my blog. I always appreciate your comments. 🙂
Happy anniversary! I’m so glad to witness you on this journey!!! With those dogs, you’ll never run out of words!! SO CUTE!!!
Thank you, Jodi. I’m thrilled you’ve been a part of my blogging world. It’s been terrific, this journey of ours, and your writing is so inspiring!
