Happy Anniversary to me! Happy three years of blogging!

Yep, another year has gone by. Summer’s almost over, all the big stores are out with their back-to-school ads, and somewhere, someone is baking a pumpkin pie.

Time flies when you’re having fun. And, I’m having loads of fun because it’s my blogging anniversary!

Good old WordPress just sent me a “Happy Anniversary” message. I’m celebrating three years this week. My, my, how my blog has grown in three years! 😉

Three years of writing about life as I see it, my divorce, my childhood in Queens, my high school years on Long Island, etc., etc. And, three years of Henry regaling you with his royal fanfare.

Yowza, 294 posts in all. Close to 300, but no cigar.  That may not seem like much to you, but if you ask me, I never thought I’d last a year.  I was pretty sure I’d soon run out of things to say. But then, what do I know?

So, in honor of this happy occasion, I hope you’ll enjoy these recent photos of my canine companions, Henry, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who descends from royalty, and the little Maltipoo street urchin, Oliver Twist. If you ask me, they’re getting along famously! Like ham and eggs, salt and pepper, and Abbott and Costello. You get the idea.

By the way, the boy with Henry is the new valet. He comes over, as needed, to feed and walk Master Henry and the young Oliver Twist.

    The babies are too sweet, but I’m sure they keep you busy. Makes me want a puppy, but I don’t know how the fat cats would cope.

  3. Monica, please forgive me for being late to the party! This is one of the downsides of vacationing in Spain–the WiFi signal is virtually non-existent and it takes eons to load pages. That said, happy belated bloganniversary! I for one have learned so much from you! Your insight, wit, and creativity have served not only to delight me, but to inspire me to write. I find I can always relate to your childhood posts. They are so exceptional, amiga mia! Here’s to many more years of writing, chica! Hugs to you, Sir Henry, and little Oliver from Roxy and me! 🙂

      And yes, I have to say, Oliver and Sir H are the cutest. Only Roxy is missing from this tableau. We need her to visit! (You, too, Amiga!)

  7. Monica, Happiest anniversary to you! I celebrated mine too! Like you, I didn’t know if I would last at all, I just wanted two write, find an outlet and then I met you!! Your support has meant so much. I am happy to call you my friend as we take this virtual journey together. Here’s to many, many more years of blogging.
    The photos of Henry and Oliver are simply adorable. Oliver has the most soulful eyes I have ever seen and well, Henry looks regal and handsome, just as royalty should. How do you resist those eyes?

    • Those eyes are very deep and soulful, limpid pools of wonderment and love. Very hard to resist, actually.

      I’m so glad we found each other, too. I remember it was when I did a blog post on Colin Firth. I haven’t written about him since, because once I discovered yours, and realized you always know the latest about him, that was good enough for me! Thank you for always keeping me informed on all things Colin. I’ve learned so much from you and your blog, my friend. Hugs!

    I actually forget when mine is – I think it’s in the winter, and it’s coming up on three years, too. Loving the summer right now, got plans that involve sunning by the pool and lots of reading. Oh, and some family visiting.

    • Thank you dearly, Kathy. We are a very prolific group. You, me and all our blogger friends. The way I see it, we’ve written enough to fill dozens of books! Maybe it’s time we start compiling the “best of” posts into a book!

  16. Happy Anniversary! It’s us, your reader that is celebrating as well. I so enjoy each installment on your blog. I love the pictures of Henry and Oliver who seem to be enjoying their summer. My family celebrated our 1 year anniversary this summer returning to Vashon, Wa. After living in Ca. For 10 years, we decided we wanted to follow our retirement plans and return. My daughter just left for her second year of college and her excitement to be now living in her own apartment off campus makes her leaving bearable. Keep blogging and I will continue to be a faithful follower.

    • Congratulations on your one year anniversary. I can’t think of a better place to live! When I lived in Seattle, I had friends in Vashon and would enjoy the ferry ride over. You live in a beautiful state! Best of luck to your daughter as she starts a new year of college. She’s going to love apartment life (as opposed to dorm life).     Love the photos of your boys, too — they’re so photogenic! I wish my Sheltie could eat ice cream, but it seems to upset his tummy (probably lactose intolerant!)

    • Debbie, is it three years for you, too? Blogging’s fun. What does Domer think of his mother blogging? My boys are very photogenic, if you ask me. I just love taking pictures of them. So does my son’s girlfriend. Some of these photos were shot by her.
