It was a beautiful, breezy day on Saturday, when my team, Clifford’s Crew, took part in the San Diego Humane Society’s Walk for Animals. Frankly, I can’t remember when I enjoyed myself more. It was such HOWLING fun!!
Mostly, it was a blast seeing all the dogs with their humans, and getting all these cool giveaways for our canine companions–treats, organic canned and dry food, clips for sealing food bags, leashes and even a day glo harness! Everyone seemed in a buoyant mood (must’ve been the pancake breakfast we all feasted on), and when the walk began at 9 a.m., we were more than ready. A special shout out to our Clifford’s Crew team leader, Ashley Rodriguez!
Here are some of the photos we took, but you’ll find more on the San Diego Humane Society’s flickr page.

Dog pals (From Left: Elwood, Brooke, Josie, Oliver and Henry) gather for a photo op. There’s no escaping the paparazzi!
All told, nearly $400,000 was raised to support the Humane Society’s ability to care for animals. It was fun and rewarding, knowing we did our part. So, are you thinking what I’m thinking?
Yes! Maybe we’ll do it again next year!
Oliver looks just like Kirby!!!!! omg, you must check out my blog to see the resemblance, although Oliver is still a puppy is he? or is he full grown? Sooo sweet. I love the little doggy event you guys went too looks like so much fun! xoxo Leah and Kirby
Aren’t we the luckiest to have such adorable dogs? Just visited your blog and am now following you, er, Kirby.
Oliver is still a puppy, about 3 months old now. You can read about how he came into our lives in this post: https://monicastangledweb.com/2013/04/30/meet-oliver-twist-2/
Anyway, thanks so much for reading and I hope you visit again soon!
I, too, love the new look, Monica! And is Oliver a new dog for you? I’m so out of the loop, I don’t know. He’s a cutie. Reminds me of my Lucy.
By the way, Sara and I have arrived safely in Ecuador, and I’m trying to get back into the routine of blogging. So far–I’m not doing to well.
Plus, Lucy has gotten sick. The vet had to make a house call tonight and took her for an ultrasound. I’m a bit stressed, as I don’t understand enough Spanish, and the vet speaks little English. He’s supposed to be back with her in an hour.
Hugs,
Kathy
Kathy, yes that’s my new dog. Henry wrote about him about three posts ago and you can find the link on the Noble Dog’s Life page at the top of this page. Glad you like the new look!
If I can help at all, if you write down what the vet says, or if he does it for you, and want to send it to me to review, you have my email. I hope Lucy’s better soon!
Looking forward to you blogging again.
Wow looks like a fun event and how wonderful so much money was raised to help the needy animals.
Love the new look!!
Thanks, Misty! It was so much fun. Thinking about the day still brings a smile to my face. Happiness is oodles and oodles of dogs!
Love the new look and the fabulous fundraiser. What a way to give back and get a little community support and activity. Have to say that I’m digging the storm troopers. Neat.
Renee, I just loved seeing the stormtroopers. And they were so kind to allow us to pose with them. What a day!
On a clear day (like this one), you can smile forever. Love the photos. Love the spirit of it all.
When we arrived at 7am, sunny skies were touch and go. It was actually very cold and breezy, and the sky was grey. Happily, it warmed up by walk time. Whew!
Monica, oh my gosh, how adorable is young Oliver in your pouch, you both look so sweet together. Henry looks, er, well, extremely regal and so he should, he is royalty after all. You all raised so much money for such a worthy cause – fantastic.
Love the Spring theme to the blog. So pretty. Well done my friend.
Thanks, MM! I got that snugly for Oliver at one of the booths at the walk. This family makes them and I thought it perfect for Oliver who now weighs a whopping 3.1 lbs. I also bought, from the same booth, matching harnesses and leashes for both. Needless to say, when my daughter saw them bedecked in their new equipment, she said they look like the Von Trapp children. And, it’s true!
Three cheers for Monica, Henry and Oliver. You’re the best for walking in support of the Humane Society.
Thank you, Lola. Maybe next year you and your mom can join us. Wouldn’t that be fun? Henry would love to meet you!
I want to go with you next year. Now I need to get a dog!
Come anyway. It’s really such an upbeat, fun event. More like a parade than an actual walk. See you soon!
Looks like a total blast!
OMG, Jayne, it was. Despite having to get up at the crack of dawn so we could get there by 7:15, it was so worth it. It’s hard to feel sad around so many dogs!
Reblogged this on The ObamaCrat.Com™ and commented:
Just what I needed to see on a Friday afternoon. Great post Ms. Monica!!
Thank you so much, ObamaCrat! And thank you, too, for reblogging. I love the opportunity to help our fellow creatures.
This was such a bright cheery post, just what I needed.
❤¸¸.`•♪Happy Mothers Day❤¸¸.`•❤
Thank you kindly. I hope you have a nice weekend, too. 🙂
A big dose of “awww” here today, Monica — thank you! But wait, did I NOT see a single Sheltie walking?? Hmm, something wrong with that! Dallas would have loved walking with you, Henry, and Oliver!
You’ve done a nice job “springing” up your home, too! And I LOVE your blue shoes!!
Debbie, I’m trying to remember if I saw a Sheltie, but I don’t recall at all. Best way to remedy is for you and Dallas to join us next year. What fun!
Pups! Everywhere! I love it!
I know! It really was invigorating to see so many happy dogs!
Wonderful photos Monica, and I agree, the new blog looks great!
Susan, I’m glad my new blog look is being well received. Ive been wanting a change, and a fresh, clean look. And now that my daughter’s home for a spell, she helped me!
nice post today and love to see the cute dogs
I adore cute dogs, and there were so many. Of course, Oliver was most flattered when folks kept asking to take a photo of him. Guess he’s a cute dog, too. 😉
Really eye catching.
Thanks. And, thanks for reading!
Thanks.
Love the new look of the blog Monica.
Well done Henry, little Oliver and of course you plus all the other people who turned out. Love you carrying little Oliver in what I have decided to call the pooch pouch.
It looks as though you had a super day, and of course lot’s of money was raised.
It was my pleasure to sponsor you and help you raise some money, when you do it next year I will do the same again.
Thanks, Robert. We really appreciated you sponsoring us. Such a good cause, too!
